Through generous grants from the Laurens County Community Foundation and Walmart, the Laurens County Museum is again celebrating for the second year, “Celebrating Native American Traditions Past & Present” . Several different venues of performances, demonstrations and storytelling are scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.  Historians and artists from around South Carolina will be participating.

The event is free and open to the public.

Native American weaponry (discussed and demonstrated)

Billy Fulcher of North Augusta

A well known flint-knapper and Native American Pottery Historian.

12:30 P.M. -2:30 P.M

.

Keepers of the Word Drumming Circle

Native American ladies from across South Carolina,

performing songs with flute, singing and stories.

2:30 P.M. -3:30 P.M .

Native American stories handed down through the centuries and weave enchanting.

Nancy Basket, Cherokee storyteller, basket maker and kudzu artist.

The museum exhibit hall is free and open to the public.
